This Fall I am starting my next set of projects while artist in residency with LocoMotoArt through the Park Board and City of Vancouver. I will be centring the work around the use of various cold lighting sources, such as LED and Electroluminescent Wire, to coincide with the upcoming 2015 International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies.
"Inspired by land art and after a stint working in the west coast film industry some years ago, with a wide variety of professional lighting, I became hyper aware of the nuances and atmosphere created with the conscious use of lighting in my photography and installation works."
I'm currently working on various projects including: light-based, nature installations on the grounds of Aberthau Mansion and a set of table top El Wire sculptures.
I'll also be will be leading an upcoming BC Arts Council funded Youth Engagement Mentorship, through VIVO Media Arts Centre and leading a series of workshops with El Wire through West Point Grey Community Centre through the Fall. See Upcoming on the left column for details.
